It was the Russians who first developed the mating program, a low-profile, international and cooperative government project completely devoid of erotic substance -- though the tools used to acquire samples of human material were often sexual. The project name, and the classification for the first batch of live male specimens to be released into the "wild" of the United States of America, pay tribute to the project's originators.

They tell me this last section is where I'm to express concerns and reservations I might have about the project. I think about tomorrow being the anniversary of Christmas Day, and that the perpetuating theme of the mating program was the development of the whole human species.
Together we would have surpassed the perilous demands of life on Earth, yet still have been able to struggle against one another. This we have not wrested from our nature, and we never will.
Who would have set back the progress made here? If they had knowledge of the project at all they would also, should also know that the schedules are quite strict, and for an unquestionably good reason. The environment plays just as big a role in the development of released subjects as does the mixture of their genetic code -- isolated laboratories can't achieve the same ends because the entire planet is a mixing bowl.
I shall continue the internal interviews after tomorrow's morning exercises, though I expect to find no surprises. It's unlikely that one of the Altered made it back to sabotage the project, but I will check to make sure.
Even if they did return, why would they have done it? It makes no sense at all. Some of us are from labs like these ones.
